On the high-heels of the previous successes in Los Angeles and New York, little black dress was poised for its international debut in the United Kingdom on Saturday, March 25, 2006. The gala was held at Urbis, a landmark building in Manchester’s Millennium Quarter. From street to couture, designers from all over the United Kingdom submitted their version of the “perfect little black dress.” Design gurus mingled with fashion’s rising stars in a crowd of comprised of celebrities, tastemakers, and socialites. All proceeds from the little black dress auction benefited the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Foundation.
Debut Exhibition
For the first time, the event culminated in a six-week exhibition celebrating the “little black dress” which was open to the public from April 8 to May 21.
